Coconut Oil

Soap made with Coconut Oil.
Coconut oil is one of the most popular oils used in soap making, it makes the soap hard with lots of bubbles.  But coconut oil is very versatile and it has hundreds of uses. It has anti-fungal, antiviral, and antibacterial properties.  When eaten coconut oil can help you lose weight and it's good for your heart.  It is great for your skin since it penetrates deeply and strengthens the underlying tissues.  Coconut oil is even great for your pets.

When sweet baby #4 came along I decided to use cloth diapers, mostly to cut down on our expenses.  The only thing is you cannot use traditional diaper rash creams, mostly those with zinc, since they will wreak all sorts of havoc with your diapers.  Such as causing your diapers to not absorbing anything, BIG problem for a diaper.  In all my research the one thing that kept popping up as a great diaper cream was plain, old coconut oil.  It rinses cleanly out of the diapers and its great for rashes since it forms a protective barrier and heals all at the same time.

I use coconut oil in cooking, soap making, deodorant, for dry scalp, hair conditioner and a ton more that I can't think of right now.  To read more about the health benefits of Coconut Oil check out this website.
